Recap: Key Takeaways from AMA Session & Future Roadmap
We recently hosted an Ask Me Anything (AMA) session to connect directly with our community, answer pressing questions, and share insights into our ongoing and future developments. The discussion covered from hardware improvements to software optimizations—and we’re excited to share a recap of the highlights.
1. Meta System Integration
Q: Many users have asked about potential compatibility with Meta’s ecosystem, such as the Quest platform. Is there any chance this could be introduced as an optional feature in the future?
A: At this time, we do not have plans to integrate Meta’s system. However, we are actively working with Google and exploring broader Android XR compatibility to ensure our platform remains versatile and future-proof.
2. Elevating the Controller Experience
Q: The current controllers are functional, but some users are hoping for additional features or are there any plans to introduce upgraded controllers?
A: We are continuously refining our tracking algorithms to deliver greater precision and responsiveness. Additionally, we’re working on optimizing Travel Mode to ensure stable performance even in moving vehicles like cars and airplanes.
3. Expanding Connectivity: USB-C & HDMI Support
Q: Many users have requested an extra USB-C port or an official USB hub for expanded connectivity. Is this something we can expect in future iterations?
A: Our current USB-C port support multi-function hub capabilities—including simultaneous charging and high-speed data streaming through a single 2-in-1 cable. This eliminates the need for additional ports in most use cases.
4. Q: For gamers who want to connect consoles like the PS5, Switch, or Xbox, will there be official HDMI support via USB-C?
A: The Dream BOX accessory will feature dual HDMI inputs, enabling seamless, low-latency streaming from devices like the PS5, Nintendo Switch 2, and Xbox. This is particularly ideal for 2D game casting, offering a big-screen experience in a portable format.
5. Comfort & Fit: A New Face Gasket for Western Users
Q: The default face gasket has received feedback for being uncomfortable for Western facial structures. Will there be a redesigned version?
A: We recognize that comfort is highly subjective and varies across different facial structures. The current gasket was initially optimized for Asian users, but we’ve listened to feedback and is polishing a Western-friendly redesign, which is now in production. This new version also includes glasses compatibility for added convenience. Bonus for Makers & Tinkerers: One of our designers has developed a 3D-printable prototype based on Tyriel Wood’s ergonomic concept. If there’s enough interest from the community, we’re happy to release the files for DIY enthusiasts to customize their own gaskets!
Next-Gen Headset Wishlist: What’s Coming?
Beyond addressing immediate concerns, we also asked the community what features they’d love to see in future hardware. Here’s a breakdown of the most requested upgrades—and where we stand on them:
1. Visual Clarity: Glare-Free Lenses
Q: Can we expect lenses with minimal glare in the next iteration?
A: Absolutely. Reducing glare is a top priority for our optical engineering team.
2. DisplayPort Support: A Highly Requested Feature
Q: Will the next headset include DisplayPort connectivity for higher bandwidth and better PCVR performance?
A: While we can’t share specifics yet, this is under active consideration. DisplayPort offers clear advantages for high-resolution, low-latency VR, and we’re carefully evaluating how to integrate it without compromising other design goals.
3. Balancing Cost & Performance
Q: Some users have suggested cost-saving measures, such as using mid-tier resolution panels or manual IPD adjustment instead of automatic. Are these options being explored?
A: Affordability is a key focus as we develop future models. We’re evaluating several approaches, including:
● Manual IPD adjustment (to reduce weight and cost)
● Mid-tier display panels (while maintaining a strong visual experience)
Our goal is to strike the right balance between performance, comfort, and price.
4. Software & Immersive Features
Full-Body Tracking (VRChat): We’re investigating third-party tracker support to enhance compatibility with popular platforms.
Audio Flexibility: Some users prefer high-end built-in audio, while others want the freedom to use their own headphones. We’re exploring both options—premium integrated audio and versatile wired/wireless connectivity.
5. PCVR Optimization: Reducing Latency
Q: Many PCVR users have asked for lower latency and smoother performance. Are there improvements coming?
A: Yes! Our R&D team is developing neural network-based prediction algorithm to minimize latency and improve responsiveness. This is especially critical for competitive gaming, where every millisecond counts.
Final Thoughts: Your Feedback Drives Innovation
This AMA reinforced how valuable our community’s insights are in shaping the future of our products. From comfort adjustments to cutting-edge performance enhancements, your suggestions help us prioritize what matters most.
We’re committed to transparency and will continue sharing updates as we refine our roadmap. Stay tuned for more announcements—and as always, keep the feedback coming!
